Cross-section of a floor coating system: surface prep, primer system and top layer

The system

Every floor is a system.

What you walk on is the last layer. What makes it last is underneath.

  1. 03Top layerEpoxy, polyurethane or MMA, from 1 mm to 6 mm, specified for the traffic and the chemicals. Sealed and easy to clean.
  2. 02Primer systemSoaks into the concrete and locks the system to the slab.
  3. 01Surface prepThe prep the slab needs first, like diamond grinding to open the surface. Cracks filled.

Get the layers right and the floor outlasts the work on top of it.

Process

Four steps. No surprises.

Surface preparation decides how long a coating lasts. That is where we start.

  1. Empty warehouse with a bare concrete floor
    01

    Assess

We visit the site, check the substrate and give you a written specification and quote.

  2. Diamond grinding a floor before coating
    02

    Prepare

Diamond grinding removes old coatings and opens the concrete. Cracks are filled and the floor is primed.

  3. Epoxy being spread across a prepared warehouse floor
    03

    Apply

The specified system goes down at the thickness the job needs.

  4. Finished gloss epoxy floor in a large warehouse
    04

    Hand over

Final inspection, housekeeping and handover. A clean site, ready for work.
